Market Analysis
Dental Clinic Density and Competition Analysis: Vietnam's Top 3 Cities
Vietnam's dental market has grown explosively over the past decade, with an estimated 5,500+ dental clinics across Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang alone. Yet only 50 to 100 clinics nationwide operate at international standards targeting foreign patients.
Vietnam’s dental services market is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing, expanding at an estimated 12–15% annually. Across the three major cities, the market comprises an estimated 3,000+ clinics in Ho Chi Minh City, 2,000+ in Hanoi, and 500+ in Da Nang, totalling over 5,500 dental practices. However, this headline figure masks enormous variation in quality, scale, and patient focus. The vast majority — roughly 95% — serve the domestic Vietnamese market exclusively, operating as small practices with 1–3 dental chairs. The international-standard segment targeting foreign patients numbers just 50–100 clinics across all of Vietnam, and only a handful operate across multiple cities. Picasso Dental Clinic, with 6 locations in 4 cities, 30+ dentists, and 70,000+ patients from 62 countries, occupies a unique position as the largest multi-city international dental provider in the country.
Vietnam’s dental industry has undergone a transformation over the past decade. Rising disposable incomes, expanding health insurance coverage, growing awareness of oral aesthetics, and the influx of dental tourism patients have driven unprecedented growth. The country’s 100 million population is increasingly demanding quality dental care, and the supply side has responded: the number of licensed dental clinics has roughly doubled since 2015.
The national picture is dominated by three metropolitan areas. Ho Chi Minh City (population ~10 million) is the commercial capital and largest dental market. Hanoi (population ~8.5 million) is the political capital with a rapidly modernising dental sector. Da Nang (population ~1.2 million) is a fast-growing coastal city that punches above its weight in dental tourism due to its appeal as a resort destination.
1.1 Market Size and Growth
Vietnam’s dental services market was valued at approximately USD $1.5–2 billion in 2025, according to Ken Research and Mordor Intelligence estimates. The market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 12–15% through 2030, driven by both domestic demand and dental tourism. Key growth catalysts include:
Rising incomes: Vietnam’s GDP per capita has tripled since 2010, reaching approximately $4,300 in 2025. As incomes rise, discretionary spending on cosmetic and preventive dentistry increases rapidly.
Insurance expansion: Government health insurance now covers basic dental care for over 90% of the population, normalising dental visits and generating referrals for private clinics.
Cosmetic awareness: Social media, Korean beauty culture, and urbanisation have driven surging demand for veneers, whitening, and orthodontics among young Vietnamese professionals.
Dental tourism: Vietnam attracted an estimated 300,000+ dental tourists in 2025, with annual growth of 20–25% in this segment.
1.2 The Supply Landscape
Vietnam has approximately 30,000 licensed dentists and an estimated 12,000–15,000 dental clinics nationwide. The supply is heavily concentrated in urban areas: the three major cities account for roughly 40–45% of all dental clinics despite representing only 20% of the population. Rural provinces remain significantly underserved, with dentist-to-population ratios often below 10 per 100,000.
Key insight: The Vietnamese dental market is simultaneously oversupplied (intense urban competition, price pressure on basic services) and undersupplied (limited access in rural areas, shortage of specialist implantologists and prosthodontists, very few clinics equipped for complex full-arch rehabilitation).
2. Methodology
Estimating dental clinic counts in Vietnam is challenging because no single public database provides a complete, current listing. Our estimates are derived from triangulating multiple data sources:
2.1 MOH Registration Data
The Vietnam Ministry of Health (MOH) maintains a registry of licensed medical and dental practices through provincial Departments of Health. As of late 2025, MOH data indicates approximately 12,000–15,000 licensed dental practices nationwide. However, this registry includes inactive licenses, practices that have closed, and clinics operating under hospital umbrellas. It also excludes some small practices that operate under general medical licenses rather than dedicated dental licenses.
2.2 Google Maps Analysis
We conducted systematic Google Maps searches for “nha khoa” (dental clinic) and “phong kham rang” (dental practice) across all districts of HCMC, Hanoi, and Da Nang during January–February 2026. Google Maps listings were cross-referenced for duplicates, permanently closed businesses, and non-dental medical practices. This approach captures operating clinics with an online presence but may undercount very small practices without Google listings.
2.3 Industry Reports
We referenced dental market reports from Ken Research (2025), Mordor Intelligence (2025), and the Vietnam Dental Association for national and city-level market sizing. These reports use a combination of MOH data, field surveys, and extrapolation models.
2.4 Limitations
All clinic count figures in this report are estimates, presented as rounded ranges rather than precise numbers. The Vietnamese dental market evolves rapidly — new clinics open and existing ones close or merge every week. We believe our estimates are accurate to within ±15–20% for city-level totals and ±25–30% for district-level breakdowns. The international-standard segment is more precisely estimated because these clinics have stronger online visibility and are easier to identify through English-language marketing, Google Reviews, and dental tourism platform listings.
Note on terminology: Throughout this report, “dental clinic” refers to any licensed dental practice, from a solo-dentist office with one chair to a multi-story facility with 20+ chairs. “International-standard clinic” refers to practices that actively target international patients with English-speaking staff, internationally sourced materials, and infection control protocols meeting Western standards.
3. Hanoi Dental Clinic Landscape
Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, has an estimated 2,000+ dental clinics serving a metropolitan population of approximately 8.5 million. The dental market here has grown rapidly since 2018, with particular expansion in the cosmetic dentistry and implant segments. Hanoi’s dental landscape is characterised by a mix of legacy state-run dental departments, a large middle tier of private Vietnamese-owned clinics, and a smaller but growing international-standard segment.
3.1 Key Districts for Dental Clinics
Ba Dinh District — The political and diplomatic centre of Hanoi, Ba Dinh has a disproportionately high concentration of international-standard clinics due to its proximity to embassies and expat residential areas. Picasso Dental’s Chau Long clinic (16 Pho Chau Long, Truc Bach) is located here. Estimated 80–120 dental clinics operate in Ba Dinh, with several specifically targeting the diplomatic and expat community.
Hoan Kiem District — The historic Old Quarter and commercial heart of Hanoi. Hoan Kiem has one of the highest clinic densities in the city, with an estimated 120–160 dental practices. Many cluster around the Hang Bong–Hang Gai–Ly Thuong Kiet corridor. These range from small street-level practices to multi-floor specialty clinics.
Cau Giay District — A rapidly developing western district that has become a centre for modern healthcare facilities. Cau Giay hosts an estimated 100–140 dental clinics, many of which are newer, larger-format practices with modern equipment. The area around Duy Tan and Tran Duy Hung streets has a particularly high concentration.
Dong Da District — Home to multiple universities and hospitals, Dong Da has an estimated 100–130 dental clinics. The presence of Hanoi Medical University and its affiliated dental training facilities makes this a hub for clinics staffed by university-trained dentists.
Bac Tu Liem District — A newer urban development area where Picasso Dental’s Embassy Garden clinic is located (LKC22 Hoang Minh Thao). This district has seen rapid clinic growth, with an estimated 40–60 dental practices, primarily targeting the growing residential population in new apartment complexes.

Hanoi’s dental market is notably price-competitive at the mid-tier. Competition among hundreds of Vietnamese-owned private clinics has driven prices for basic services (fillings, cleanings, simple extractions) down significantly. However, the premium implant and cosmetic segment remains less price-sensitive, as patients in this bracket prioritise quality, brand reputation, and dentist credentials over cost.
4. HCMC Dental Clinic Landscape
Ho Chi Minh City is Vietnam’s largest dental market by a significant margin, with an estimated 3,000+ dental clinics serving a metropolitan population of approximately 10 million. As the country’s commercial capital and primary international gateway, HCMC has the deepest dental infrastructure, the most international clinics, and the most intense competition.
4.1 Key Districts for Dental Clinics
District 1 — The central business district has the highest absolute concentration of dental clinics in Vietnam, with an estimated 200–280 practices. The Ben Nghe and Ben Thanh wards are particularly dense, with clinics on nearly every commercial street. District 1 ranges from budget walk-in clinics to high-end cosmetic practices with premium pricing.
District 3 — A well-established residential and commercial area with an estimated 120–160 dental clinics. District 3 is known for quality mid-tier practices and has several well-regarded Vietnamese dental chains with multiple branches.
District 2 / Thu Duc City (Thao Dien) — The primary expat residential area and location of Picasso Dental’s HCMC clinic (25B Nguyen Duy Hieu, Thao Dien). This area has the highest concentration of international-standard clinics per square kilometre in Vietnam. An estimated 60–90 dental clinics operate here, with a disproportionate number targeting English-speaking patients. The Thao Dien–An Phu corridor is a premium dental zone.
Phu Nhuan District — A densely populated inner district with an estimated 100–140 dental clinics. Phu Nhuan is a stepping stone between the expat areas and the city centre, with a mix of mid-range and premium practices.
Binh Thanh District — Rapidly developing and increasingly popular with young professionals, Binh Thanh has an estimated 90–130 dental clinics. Many newer clinics here are modern, Instagram-friendly cosmetic practices targeting the Vietnamese millennial and Gen-Z demographic.
District 7 (Phu My Hung) — A planned urban zone with a significant Korean and expat community. Estimated 50–80 dental clinics, including several Korean-owned practices and Vietnamese clinics with Korean-trained dentists. This is a secondary hub for international dental care.

HCMC’s dental market is the most internationally competitive in Vietnam. The city’s 50,000–60,000 resident expats and millions of annual international visitors create a large addressable market for English-language dental services. This has attracted significant investment, including foreign-owned clinics (particularly from South Korea, Japan, and Singapore), Vietnamese dental chains expanding from other cities, and hospital-affiliated dental departments at FV Hospital and Vinmec.
5. Da Nang Dental Clinic Landscape
Da Nang has an estimated 500+ dental clinics serving a metropolitan population of approximately 1.2 million. While significantly smaller than HCMC and Hanoi in absolute numbers, Da Nang has a surprisingly high clinic density relative to its population and is rapidly growing as a dental tourism hub, particularly for patients from South Korea, Japan, and Australia.
5.1 Concentration in Hai Chau District
Da Nang’s dental market is heavily concentrated in Hai Chau District, the city’s central urban core. An estimated 200–250 of the city’s 500+ clinics are located in Hai Chau, particularly along the Hoang Dieu, Le Duan, and Bach Dang corridors. Both of Picasso Dental’s Da Nang locations are in Hai Chau: the Hoang Dieu clinic (420 Hoang Dieu) and the Vinmec clinic (inside Vinmec Da Nang Hospital on 30 Thang 4 Street).
Thanh Khe District accounts for an estimated 80–100 dental clinics, primarily mid-tier Vietnamese practices. Son Tra District and the My Khe Beach area have a smaller but growing cluster of 30–50 dental practices, some targeting the Korean tourist and long-stay community. Ngu Hanh Son and Lien Chieu districts have fewer clinics, primarily serving residential populations.

Da Nang’s dental market has a notable bifurcation. The majority of clinics are small, price-competitive practices serving local residents. The international segment is small but growing rapidly, driven by Da Nang’s status as a beach tourism destination and its strong direct flight connections to South Korea (Incheon, Busan, Daegu) and Japan (Tokyo, Osaka). Korean dental tourists, in particular, have created demand for a growing number of Korean-language dental services in the Son Tra and My Khe areas.
Emerging trend: Da Nang has the highest clinic density per capita of the three cities at approximately 42 per 100,000 — higher than HCMC (30) or Hanoi (24). This reflects both the city’s growing middle class and the influx of dental tourism demand, which has spurred rapid clinic openings. However, the international-standard segment remains very small, creating an opportunity for established multi-city operators like Picasso Dental.
6. Clinic Density Comparison
Comparing dental clinic density across Vietnam’s three major cities reveals important differences in market saturation, competitive intensity, and the international-standard segment. The following table consolidates our estimates:

Key finding: Da Nang has the highest clinic density per capita but the fewest international-standard options. HCMC dominates in absolute clinic count and international-segment depth. For dental tourists, the relevant metric is not total clinics but international-standard clinics — and even in HCMC, this segment represents only ~1% of the market.
7. International-Standard Clinic Segment
Of Vietnam’s estimated 12,000–15,000 dental clinics, only 50–100 specifically target international patients with the infrastructure, language capability, and material standards that dental tourists expect. This tiny segment — representing less than 1% of total clinics — generates a disproportionate share of revenue and drives Vietnam’s reputation as a dental tourism destination.
7.1 Defining “International-Standard”
We classify a dental clinic as “international-standard” if it meets the following criteria:
Language: English-speaking clinical staff (dentists and at least some support staff), English-language website and marketing materials
Materials: Use of internationally recognised implant brands (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Osstem, Neodent, or equivalent) and prosthetic materials (IPS e.max, zirconia from Ivoclar, 3M, or equivalent)
Technology: CBCT 3D scanning, digital impressions or intraoral scanning capability
Infection control: Autoclave sterilisation with documentation, single-use consumables, protocols meeting or approaching Western standards
Patient communication: Remote pre-consultation capability (WhatsApp, email), transparent published pricing, before-and-after case portfolio
Active targeting: Marketing to international patients through dental tourism platforms, Google Ads in English, or social media targeting foreign markets
7.2 Segment Breakdown by City
HCMC: 30–40 international-standard clinics. The deepest market, with clinics ranging from boutique single-dentist practices in Thao Dien to large multi-specialty facilities. Key players include established Vietnamese chains, Korean-owned clinics in District 7, and hospital-affiliated dental departments (FV Hospital, Vinmec). Competition is intense, with many clinics competing on Google Ads, dental tourism platforms (Dental Departures, GCR), and social media.
Hanoi: 15–25 international-standard clinics. A smaller but growing segment, concentrated in Ba Dinh (embassy area) and Tay Ho (West Lake). Hanoi’s international clinics tend to serve the resident expat community more than fly-in dental tourists, though this is changing as Hanoi’s airport connectivity improves. The market is less saturated than HCMC, with fewer clinics competing for the same patient pool.
Da Nang: 5–10 international-standard clinics. The smallest segment, but growing rapidly. Da Nang’s international dental market is heavily influenced by Korean tourism — several clinics offer Korean-language services. English-language international clinics are still rare, creating a significant opportunity for multi-city operators like Picasso Dental. The combination of beach tourism and dental treatment is a unique selling proposition that no other Vietnamese city can match.
7.3 Multi-City Operators
The rarest category in Vietnam’s dental landscape is multi-city operators with consistent quality across locations. Most dental clinics in Vietnam are single-location businesses. A handful of Vietnamese dental chains have expanded to 2–3 branches, but these are typically within the same city. Clinics that operate across multiple cities with standardised protocols, shared patient records, and identical pricing are extremely uncommon. Picasso Dental Clinic, with 6 locations in 4 cities (Hanoi, HCMC, Da Nang, Da Lat), is the largest multi-city international dental provider in Vietnam by a significant margin.
8. Competition Dynamics & Market Positioning
Vietnam’s dental market operates across three distinct competitive tiers, each with different dynamics, price points, and patient expectations.
8.1 Tier 1: Budget/Local Clinics (~85–90% of market)
The vast majority of Vietnamese dental clinics are small, owner-operated practices with 1–3 chairs, serving Vietnamese-speaking patients for routine dental care. These clinics compete primarily on price and convenience. A dental implant at this tier costs $200–$500 using domestic or Chinese-manufactured implant systems. Veneers start at $50–$150 using composite or low-cost ceramic materials. Quality is highly variable — some local clinics deliver excellent care, while others cut corners on sterilisation, materials, or diagnostic imaging. These clinics are not suitable for dental tourists who cannot read Vietnamese, assess local reputations, or navigate quality inconsistencies.
8.2 Tier 2: Premium Vietnamese Clinics (~8–12% of market)
A growing segment of Vietnamese clinics positions between local budget practices and international-standard clinics. These practices are typically modern, well-equipped, and staffed by experienced dentists, but primarily serve affluent Vietnamese patients. They may have some English capability but do not actively target international patients. Implant prices at this tier range from $500–$900, using Korean (Osstem, Dentium) or European brands. Veneers cost $150–$300. These clinics offer good value for domestic patients but may lack the communication infrastructure, fixed-price transparency, and remote consultation workflows that dental tourists require.
8.3 Tier 3: International-Standard Clinics (~1–2% of market)
The top tier comprises the 50–100 clinics that actively serve international patients. These clinics invest heavily in English-language staff, digital marketing, premium materials, and patient experience. Implant prices range from $800–$2,000 depending on the brand (Nobel Biocare and Straumann command premiums over Osstem). Veneers cost $280–$500. Even at these prices, international-standard clinics in Vietnam are 60–80% cheaper than comparable practices in Australia, the UK, or the US. Competition within this tier is fierce for online visibility, dental tourism platform rankings, and patient reviews.
8.4 Competitive Pressures
Several forces are reshaping competition in Vietnam’s dental market:
Korean investment: South Korean dental chains and individual practitioners have opened clinics in HCMC (District 7) and Da Nang, bringing Korean technology and training methodologies. These primarily serve Korean patients but are expanding to other markets.
Hospital-affiliated dentistry: Major hospital groups (Vinmec, FV Hospital) have expanded their dental departments, leveraging hospital brand trust and JCI accreditation to attract international patients willing to pay premium prices.
Digital marketing arms race: International-standard clinics are investing heavily in Google Ads, SEO, YouTube content, and dental tourism platforms. Patient acquisition costs are rising as more clinics compete for the same keywords.
Price transparency pressure: Dental tourism platforms and patient review sites are forcing greater price transparency, making it harder for clinics to charge significantly above market rates without clear quality differentiation.
9. How Picasso Dental Differentiates
In a market with 5,500+ competitors across three cities, Picasso Dental Clinic occupies a distinct position through six key differentiators that are difficult for competitors to replicate.
9.1 Multi-City Presence
6 locations in 4 cities (2 in Hanoi, 2 in Da Nang, 1 in HCMC, 1 in Da Lat) make Picasso Dental the only international-focused dental provider with true nationwide coverage in Vietnam. This allows patients to choose their preferred destination without compromising on clinic quality. It also enables multi-city treatment plans — starting treatment in Da Nang and completing follow-up in Hanoi before flying home, for example. Digital patient records are shared across all locations.
9.2 Scale and Track Record
With 70,000+ patients from 62 countries since 2013, Picasso Dental has a depth of international patient experience that most Vietnamese clinics cannot match. This track record translates to refined workflows for remote consultation, treatment planning from X-rays sent via WhatsApp, airport transfers, hotel recommendations, and post-treatment follow-up. The clinic has handled thousands of complex full-arch (All-on-4, All-on-6) cases — a procedure category where experience is directly correlated with outcomes.
9.3 Premium Implant Brands
Picasso Dental uses Nobel Biocare (Sweden), Straumann (Switzerland), and Osstem (South Korea) — the three most recognised implant brands globally. Each implant comes with a manufacturer’s certificate of authenticity and warranty. Many local clinics in Vietnam use unbranded or lesser-known implant systems that lack long-term clinical data and global warranty support.
9.4 Fixed USD Pricing with No Hidden Fees
All pricing is published in USD and confirmed before the patient books flights. A single implant costs $962–$1,731, porcelain veneers cost $346–$462, and All-on-4 restorations cost $6,731–$11,154. These prices are identical across all 6 locations. There are no consultation fees, no hidden charges, and no price variations between cities. This level of pricing transparency and consistency is rare in the Vietnamese dental market.
9.5 CAD/CAM Design
CAD/CAM design supports accurate restorations and predictable turnaround for complex cases, with crowns and veneers fabricated by the dental laboratory to consistent quality standards.
9.6 Dedicated International Patient Team
Picasso Dental employs a dedicated international patient coordination team that handles WhatsApp consultations, treatment plan creation, appointment scheduling, hotel recommendations, and airport transfer coordination. Communication is in English, with support available 7 days a week. This infrastructure investment — separate from clinical staff — is a significant operational differentiator that smaller clinics cannot easily replicate.

10. Quality Indicators: What Separates International Clinics from Local Ones
For dental tourists evaluating Vietnamese clinics, understanding the quality markers that distinguish international-standard practices from the broader market is essential. The following indicators are the most reliable ways to assess clinic quality before committing to treatment.
10.1 Implant Brand Transparency
International-standard clinics will specify exactly which implant system they use — by manufacturer name, product line, and country of origin. They will provide certificates of authenticity for every implant placed. If a clinic cannot or will not tell you the brand of implant they use, this is a significant red flag. Premium implant brands (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Osstem) have decades of clinical research supporting their long-term success rates (95%+ at 10 years). Unbranded or generic implants lack this evidence base.
10.2 CBCT 3D Scanning
Any clinic performing implant surgery should have an in-house CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scanner. This technology provides 3D imaging of the jawbone, allowing precise implant placement planning and assessment of bone density and volume. Clinics that rely solely on 2D panoramic X-rays for implant planning are using outdated methodology. CBCT scanners represent a significant capital investment ($50,000–$150,000), which is why they are common in international-standard clinics but rare in budget practices.
10.3 Sterilisation Protocols
Look for evidence of autoclave sterilisation (steam sterilisation at 134°C) with regular spore testing documentation. International-standard clinics should be willing to show you their sterilisation area and explain their protocols. Single-use items (needles, suction tips, gloves, bibs) should never be reused. While Vietnam’s MOH requires basic sterilisation compliance, enforcement is inconsistent, and the gap between local and international practices is significant in this area.
10.4 Dentist Credentials and Specialisation
Ask about the lead dentist’s qualifications, years of experience, and case volume for the specific procedure you need. For implant surgery, look for dentists with post-graduate training in implantology from recognised institutions. In Vietnam, top credentials include degrees from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy (HCMC or Hanoi), advanced training at 108 Military Central Hospital, and international certifications from Korean, Japanese, or European dental academies. Experienced implantologists should have placed 1,000+ implants over their career.
10.5 Online Reputation
Google Reviews remain the most reliable public indicator of patient satisfaction. Look for clinics with 100+ reviews and a 4.5+ star rating. Read the reviews carefully — pay attention to English-language reviews from international patients, not just Vietnamese reviews which may have different expectations. Check multiple platforms: Google, Facebook, and dental tourism sites like Dental Departures and GCR.
10.6 Communication Responsiveness
Send a WhatsApp message or email to the clinic before committing. How quickly do they respond? Is the response in clear English? Do they ask for your X-rays and photos before providing a treatment plan? Reputable clinics like Picasso Dental will provide a detailed treatment plan with fixed pricing within 48 hours of receiving your dental records. Clinics that quote prices without seeing your case, or that pressure you to book immediately, should be approached with caution.

11. Frequently Asked Questions
How many dental clinics are there in Vietnam?
Vietnam has an estimated 12,000–15,000 dental clinics nationwide as of 2026. The three major cities account for roughly 5,500+ of these: Ho Chi Minh City has approximately 3,000+ clinics, Hanoi has 2,000+, and Da Nang has 500+. These figures include all licensed dental practices, from solo-dentist offices to multi-chair specialty clinics. The number of clinics has roughly doubled since 2015, driven by rising incomes and growing demand for cosmetic dentistry.
How many international-standard dental clinics are there in Vietnam?
An estimated 50 to 100 dental clinics across Vietnam specifically target international patients with English-speaking staff, internationally sourced materials, and Western-standard infection control protocols. Of these, approximately 30–40 are in Ho Chi Minh City, 15–25 in Hanoi, and 5–10 in Da Nang. This represents less than 1% of all dental clinics in the country. Only a handful operate at scale across multiple cities — Picasso Dental Clinic, with 6 locations in 4 cities, is the largest multi-city international dental provider in Vietnam.
What is the dentist-to-population ratio in Vietnam?
Vietnam has approximately 30,000 licensed dentists serving a population of 100 million, yielding a national ratio of roughly 30 dentists per 100,000 people. This is significantly lower than developed nations (Australia: ~65, UK: ~55, USA: ~60 per 100,000) but is improving rapidly. The ratio is much higher in major cities: HCMC and Hanoi have an estimated 40–50 dentists per 100,000, closer to international standards. Rural provinces may have ratios below 10 per 100,000.
Which district in HCMC has the most dental clinics?
District 1 (Ben Nghe, Ben Thanh wards) has the highest concentration of dental clinics in HCMC, with an estimated 200–280 practices. However, District 2 / Thu Duc City (Thao Dien area) has the highest concentration of international-standard clinics specifically targeting expatriates and dental tourists. Picasso Dental Clinic’s HCMC location is at 25B Nguyen Duy Hieu in Thao Dien, in the heart of this international dental hub.
Is the Vietnamese dental market growing?
Yes, rapidly. Vietnam’s dental services market is growing at approximately 12–15% annually, driven by rising domestic incomes, increasing awareness of oral health, expanding insurance coverage, and growth in dental tourism. The premium and international-standard segment is growing even faster, at an estimated 20–25% per year. The number of dental clinics has roughly doubled in the past decade, and the trend shows no signs of slowing.
How does Picasso Dental Clinic differentiate from other Vietnamese clinics?
Picasso Dental differentiates through multi-city presence (6 locations in 4 cities — the widest geographic coverage of any international dental provider in Vietnam), premium implant brands (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Osstem), CAD/CAM milling, fixed USD pricing with no hidden fees and identical costs across all branches, and a 70,000+ patient track record across 62 countries since 2013. The clinic employs 30+ dentists including dedicated implantologists and prosthodontists.
What quality certifications should I look for in a Vietnamese dental clinic?
Key quality indicators include: MOH (Ministry of Health) licensing, ISO certification (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485), use of internationally recognised implant brands with certificates of authenticity, CBCT 3D scanning capability, autoclave sterilisation with spore testing, a certified dental laboratory, English-speaking clinical staff, and transparent published pricing. International accreditations such as JCI or GCR are additional trust signals. Look for 100+ Google Reviews with a 4.5+ star rating as a benchmark of patient satisfaction.
How do I verify a dental clinic’s credentials in Vietnam?
Request the clinic’s MOH practice license number and verify it with the provincial Department of Health. Check Google Reviews (prioritise English-language reviews from international patients), look for before-and-after case photos, ask about specific implant brands and materials (request certificates of authenticity), and inquire about the lead dentist’s qualifications. Send a WhatsApp message — reputable clinics like Picasso Dental (+84 989 067 888) will respond promptly with detailed information and provide a treatment plan within 48 hours of receiving your dental records.
12. Conclusions
Vietnam’s dental market is one of the most dynamic in Southeast Asia — large, fast-growing, and intensely competitive. With an estimated 5,500+ clinics across three major cities, the supply of dental care is abundant. But for international patients, the headline number is misleading. The segment that matters — clinics with English-speaking staff, internationally sourced materials, modern technology, and transparent pricing — comprises fewer than 100 clinics nationwide.
Within this already small segment, multi-city operators with consistent quality are even rarer. Picasso Dental Clinic’s 6 locations across 4 cities represent a unique proposition in the Vietnamese dental market: the ability to choose your preferred destination — the beaches of Da Nang, the culture of Hanoi, or the energy of HCMC — without compromising on clinical quality, material standards, or pricing. With 70,000+ patients from 62 countries and a 12-year track record, Picasso has demonstrated that scale and quality can coexist in Vietnam’s dental tourism industry.
For dental tourists evaluating Vietnamese clinics, the key takeaway is this: do not be overwhelmed by the sheer number of options. Focus on the quality indicators outlined in this report — implant brand transparency, CBCT capability, sterilisation protocols, dentist credentials, online reviews, and communication responsiveness. The right clinic will proactively share all of this information before you book a single flight.
The Vietnamese dental market will continue to grow and consolidate. More clinics will open, particularly in the premium and international segments. But the fundamentals of quality dental care are not changing: experienced dentists, proven materials, modern technology, and genuine care for patient outcomes. These are the markers that matter — not clinic count, not price, and not marketing budgets.
