Crafting Smiles,
Painting Happiness
Since 2013.
Picasso Dental started as Serenity International Dental Clinic, a single practice opened by Dr. Emily Nguyen in Hanoi in 2013. Twelve years later it operates as 6 branches across 4 Vietnamese cities, has treated more than 70,000 patients from 62 countries, and remains led by the same founding clinical director.
How It Started
How It Started
In 2013, Dr. Emily Nguyen opened Serenity International Dental Clinic in Hanoi with a straightforward goal: to offer the level of dental care that international patients expected, at a price that made sense in Vietnam. The clinic was designed from the start to serve both expatriates living in Hanoi and international visitors who had discovered that Vietnam offered a compelling combination of clinical quality and cost.
The first patients were largely word-of-mouth referrals from the Hanoi expat community. Within two years a second branch was added. The model proved repeatable: consistent clinical protocols, English-speaking staff, transparent pricing, and the same senior dentists seeing patients from consultation to completion.
The Rebrand: Serenity to Picasso
The Rebrand: Serenity to Picasso
In 2023, following private equity investment and a period of planned expansion, the group rebranded to Picasso Dental Clinic. The name reflects the creative and artistic dimension of cosmetic dentistry: the idea that a dentist, like a painter, shapes something visible and lasting. Dr. Emily Nguyen remained Founding Clinical Director across the transition, and clinical standards, team composition and pricing philosophy were unchanged.
The rebrand accelerated the expansion to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Lat, cities that had been on the roadmap since 2019 but paused during the pandemic years.

What Has Not Changed
What Has Not Changed
Across twelve years and two brand names, three things have stayed constant: the same founding clinical director setting group-wide standards, the same commitment to transparent pricing quoted in writing before treatment, and the same policy of never having a patient wait to see a different dentist because their primary dentist is unavailable. Continuity of care, not a rotating roster of associates, is the clinical model.
Picasso does not publish aspirational quotes about "changing lives". The record is in the 70,000 patient treatments completed, 4.9 Google rating across branches, and the proportion of new patients who arrive as referrals from previous patients.
