Multiple Missing Teeth, One Fixed Bridge.

Picasso Dental replaces 4 adjacent missing teeth with an implant-supported bridge in Vietnam, using Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Osstem or Neodent, every fixture covered by the manufacturer's original warranty. Two implants can support a bridge of 3 or 4 teeth, no individual implant per position required, planned with CBCT 3D imaging across our six branches.

What is an Implant Bridge?

An implant bridge replaces 4 adjacent missing teeth with two titanium fixtures supporting a connected porcelain bridge. Instead of placing one implant for every missing tooth, the rear and front of the gap each carry one implant, and the false teeth in between are suspended from them. This costs less, involves less surgery, and produces the same fixed, permanent result as individual implants for routine cases.

Why Choose an Implant Bridge?

Lower Cost Than Individual Implants

A 3-unit implant bridge uses 2 implants instead of 3. A 4-unit bridge uses 2 instead of 4. The saving on fixtures and surgery is significant, often 40 percent versus an implant per position.

Healthy Teeth Untouched

A traditional bridge grinds down the healthy teeth either side of the gap. An implant bridge anchors into bone instead. Every other tooth in your mouth stays exactly as it is.

Bone Preservation

The implant fixtures transmit chewing force into the bone the way natural roots do, slowing or preventing the bone shrinkage that follows long-term tooth loss.

Implant Bridge Configurations

Pricing is tiered by bridge size (3-unit, 4-unit, 5-unit), implant count (2 or 3 implants), and implant brand (Osstem, Neodent, Nobel Biocare, Straumann). All-inclusive of fixtures, abutments and the connected porcelain bridge. Fixture-only pricing also available for patients staging treatment across two countries. Per-configuration pricing is published on our cost guide. Pricing is itemised in your written quote after CBCT planning.

How Many Implants Do You Need?

The number of implants depends on the number of missing teeth, the position in the arch, and your bone quality. Here are the standard configurations.

2 Missing Teeth

Recommendation: 2 individual implants, one per tooth. A 2-implant bridge is generally not used because the result is identical in cost and complexity.

Best for: Two adjacent missing teeth in any position.

3 Missing Teeth

Recommendation: 2 implants + 3-unit bridge. The two outer positions carry the implants; the middle position is a suspended pontic (false tooth).

Best for: Most 3-tooth gaps with adequate bone at the outer positions.

4 Missing Teeth

Recommendation: 2 or 3 implants. 2 if the bridge span and bite force allow; 3 for longer arches or molar-zone bridges with heavy chewing load.

Best for: 4-tooth gaps, decided by CBCT and bite analysis.

5 or More Missing Teeth

Recommendation: 3 implants minimum. For full-arch loss, see All-on-4 (4 implants supporting 14 teeth) or All-on-6.

Best for: Larger spans where load distribution matters.

An implant bridge is the right answer for most adults missing 4 adjacent teeth. We will tell you honestly when individual implants or a traditional bridge fit your case better.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Implant bridges suit most adults missing 4 adjacent teeth. Here are the conditions that change the answer, all decided after your CBCT scan and medical history review.

You're a Strong Candidate If

You are an adult (~18+) in generally good health with 4 adjacent missing teeth.

Your jawbone is adequate at the planned implant positions, or willing to undergo grafting if needed.

Your gums are healthy, or any gum disease has been treated first.

If diabetic, your HbA1c is well-controlled (ideally below 7%).

You do not smoke, or are willing to stop at least 2 weeks before surgery and 8 weeks after.

You can attend a basic 6-month recall, locally or with us.

An Implant Bridge May Not Be Right If

You have uncontrolled diabetes, healing and integration are significantly compromised.

You have active, untreated gum disease, must be resolved first.

You have recently received IV bisphosphonate therapy.

You are a heavy smoker unwilling to stop or significantly cut down.

The gap span is too long (5+ teeth), where a different solution applies.

You are pregnant, we postpone elective implant surgery until after delivery.

Caring for Your Implant Bridge

An implant bridge is not a one-time treatment. With basic maintenance, modern implants routinely last 25 years or more. Here's the schedule that keeps yours that way.

First 7 Days

Soft food, no smoking, no straws, no vigorous rinsing. Mild swelling is normal and peaks around day 3. Take prescribed antibiotics and pain relief as directed.

Day 14

Suture removal (or dissolvable sutures fall away). Diet returns to normal-soft. Begin gentle brushing of the surgical sites.

Daily, Forever

Brush twice daily with a soft toothbrush. Use floss threaders or interdental brushes around and under the bridge. A water flosser is particularly effective for cleaning beneath connected pontics.

Every 6 Months

Professional cleaning, soft-tissue check around each implant, visual inspection of the bridge. Identical to a natural-tooth recall.

Year 1 X-ray Check

Standard 12-month X-ray to confirm bone levels around each implant are stable. Standard practice for all implant patients globally.

Bridge Hygiene Tools

Floss threaders, super floss, interdental brushes and a water flosser are all helpful. We provide hands-on instruction at the final fitting and a starter kit to take home.

The International Implant Bridge Journey

Two paths for patients flying in from abroad for an implant bridge. Choose the one that fits your time and your budget.

Option A: Two Trips (Standard)

Trip 1 ( 7 days): Consultation, CBCT, extractions (if needed), implant placement, temporary bridge.

Wait at home: 4 months osseointegration. We check in over WhatsApp.

Trip 2 ( 7 days): Digital impression, abutments, final bridge fitting, case file delivery.

Best for: Most patients · Full bone healing time · Budget travel split across two trips.

Option B: Single Extended Trip

One trip ( 5 months): Consultation, CBCT, placement, healing in Vietnam, bridge delivery, all in one stay.

Best for: Retirees · Remote workers · Patients who can take an extended period in Vietnam.

Bonus: Low cost of living during healing · Beach recovery in Da Nang or mountain recovery in Da Lat.

Risks & Success Rates: Honestly

No surgery is risk-free. Here's what the dental implant literature reports for implant bridges, and how Picasso minimises every avoidable risk.

Documented Success Rate

Long-term clinical literature consistently reports implant survival in the 98 percent range over 10 years for healthy patients placed by experienced clinicians, confirmed by the systematic review of Moraschini et al. (2015) covering more than 14,000 implants across 23 studies. Implant-supported bridges show similar survival.

What Can Go Wrong

Failure to integrate at one of the implants (rare). Peri-implantitis (gum disease around an implant). Bridge fracture (the bridge is replaceable without disturbing the implants). Cement-retained bridge loosening (re-cementable).

How We Minimise Risk

CBCT 3D imaging before every implant. Autoclave sterilisation. Medical history screening. Genuine brand fixtures only with verifiable serial numbers. Surgical planning reviewed before any incision.

If Something Goes Wrong

If an implant fails to integrate within 6 months of placement, we re-place it at no additional cost. If a bridge fractures within the warranty period, we replace it. We don't invoice you to fix our own work.

Smoking & Implants

Smoking roughly doubles implant failure risk and significantly increases peri-implantitis. Honest disclosure during consultation lets us adjust the protocol and aftercare advice, it doesn't disqualify you.

Bridge Hygiene Matters

Connected pontics (false teeth suspended between implants) collect debris underneath. Daily cleaning with floss threaders or a water flosser is essential, peri-implantitis around bridges almost always traces back to inadequate hygiene.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an implant bridge cost in Vietnam?

Implant bridge pricing is tiered by bridge size (3-unit, 4-unit, 5-unit), implant count (2 or 3 implants), and brand (Osstem, Neodent, Nobel Biocare, Straumann). Per-configuration pricing is published on our implant cost guide. Prices include the fixtures, abutments and the porcelain bridge.

Do I need an implant for every missing tooth?

No. Two implants can support a bridge of 3 or 4 connected crowns. This costs less and involves less surgery than placing an implant at every position. Individual implants per tooth are recommended only when the bridge span would be too long or hygiene access is critical.

How long does an implant bridge last?

The implant fixtures themselves routinely last 25 years or more, with documented 10-year survival in the 98 percent range. The porcelain bridge on top typically lasts 15 years before considering replacement. The bridge can be replaced without disturbing the underlying implants.

How long does the whole process take?

For a standard implant bridge: implant placement on day one, then 4 months of osseointegration, then 3 visits over 3 weeks for the final bridge. Total: roughly 6 months from first surgery to final bridge.

Will I be missing teeth during the healing period?

Not visibly. If the missing teeth are in the smile zone, we provide a temporary bridge so you are never seen with a gap. For back teeth where it is not visible, a temporary is optional.

Is an implant bridge better than a traditional bridge?

Yes, in most cases. A traditional bridge requires grinding down healthy adjacent teeth as anchors. An implant bridge anchors into the jawbone instead, leaving every other tooth untouched and preserving bone in the area.

What if I have 4 missing teeth in a row?

Two implants can support a 4-unit bridge in many cases, the rear and front of the gap each carry one implant, with two false teeth suspended between them. For longer spans (5+ teeth), we typically recommend 3 implants for proper load distribution.

Will I need bone grafting?

Possibly. If teeth have been missing for years, bone shrinkage in the area may require grafting before implant placement. The CBCT scan tells us definitively on day one. GBR bone grafting (Bio-Oss) adds 6 weeks; a sinus lift in the upper back jaw can add 6 months.

Can I get my implant bridge in one trip?

Most international patients split treatment across two trips: surgery and a temporary bridge on trip one, then the final bridge on trip two after osseointegration. Patients with longer availability complete both phases in a single extended stay in Vietnam.

Is the warranty international?

Yes. Every implant brand we offer issues a manufacturer warranty recognised globally. We provide your implant serial numbers and full clinical records so any dentist anywhere can service the bridge or implants if needed.

Which brand is best for an implant bridge?

Osstem is well-suited to standard cases at the best price. Nobel Biocare and Straumann are recommended for the aesthetic zone, longer-span bridges, or cases where premium long-term documentation matters. We recommend after seeing your CBCT scan.

Does the surgery hurt?

The surgery is performed under local anaesthetic, you feel pressure, not pain. Post-operative experience is comparable to a tooth extraction: 3 days of mild swelling, managed with over-the-counter pain relief. Sedation is available for anxious patients or longer surgical sessions.
